About our trainer - Brian Messenger

With 25 years of proven experience, Brian is sought after
by many who need their pets trained.

Brian Messenger started a two year apprentice  program in 1982 at the Red Barn K9 Training Center in St. Louis Mo. The curriculum studied included:

Basic K9 Behavior
Kennel Maintenance and Up-Keep
Obedience Training on and off the leash
Protection Training on and off the leash
Business Management

Brian was lucky enough to work with some of the best trainers in the country who helped him achieve a superior understanding of getting results from dogs in a positive manner.

In 1984 Brian started his own business in Charleston Il., Charleston's Working Dog Forum in which he taught obedience training for the next six (6) years until he moved to the Kansas City Metro area.

In 1991 Brian formed K9U as a "private in home lesson company that catered primarily to behavioral modifications and obedience training.

Currently K9U is taught out of the Mission Mo. Pet Mart where Brian teaches weekly. To date, Brian has trained an estimated 1500 dogs and owners in behavioral modifications, obedience and protection training.
